**** NOTES RULE CHANGES
Rule 20 was voted in at 2011
reorganization meeting
AS OF 2008 YOU ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO BELONG TO
THE CLUB TO PLAY IN THE LEAGUE.
THIS LEAGUE WILL
PLAY ACCORDING TO THE COURSE RULES ESTABLISHED BY OVERLAKE G/C AS OF THE DATE
OF PLAY.
1. Out of bounds are not marked by white stakes except # 15. Check the score card for all out of bounds.
(GO TO WHERE BALL CROSSED INTO HAZARD AND DROP 1 STROKE PENALTY OR RETEE AND HIT 3 FROM TEE= YOUR CHOICE)
2. HOLE #8 WILL BE PLAYED AS A MANDATORY “HIT UP HOLE”. WAVE UP THE FOLLOWING GROUP.
3. PUTTING—You may place a different ball for putting once you are on the Green.
4. TOUCHING BALL- League Rule – You may move ball in your fairway 6” however you may not touch your ball in the rough unless under PLUGGED BALL rule or to identify under rule 12-2.
5. ****PLUGGED BALL—You may lift and clean your ball if plugged in fairway, rough or on the green. IF PLUGGED IN SAND HAZARD YOU MAY LIFT AND identify ball and place back in sand AS IT WAS. NO PENALTY.(THIS RULE WAS CHANGED IN 2008 BY THE PGA). IF PLUGGED OR UNPLAYAYABLE IN LATERAL OR WATER HAZARD MAY LIFT AND CLEAN AND DROP AT POINT OF ENTRY OR PLAY FROM PREVIOUS STROKE WITH ONE STROKE PENALTY.

SLOW PLAY—If play is
being slowed by the group in front of you please notify the group in question.
Please be aware of the speed at which you are playing. IF INFORMED OF YOUR SLOW
PLAY A COUPLE OF TIMES –TAKE IT TO HEART – YOU ARE PLAYING TOO SLOW.

Clean ball rule will be in effect IN YOUR OWN
FAIRWAY YOU MAY LIFT AND CLEAN.

*****NO SHOW POINTS A player with no
opponent WILL PLAY AGAINST OWN HANDICAP AND START AT 7 POINTS. If player shoots
better than handicap will receive strokes better than hcp up to a max of 2
points for 9
points max or if they do not score as well as their hcp they will lose points
to a max of 2 points and then only score 5 points. (2004 ADDENDUM) A Golfer must play assigned side even with a
NO SHOW. You no longer have the choice of either side. NOTE We will be only using the highest three
scores for team points each week. There will be no points recorded for the
missing golfer.*****2009 addendum to rules.
A golfer may schedule match any time Sat-Fri if opponent is willing to join and
play. Leave card at desk for secretary to retrieve Friday night for scores. If
an amicable time can not be scheduled the golfer will be considered a no show
on Friday.

*****2010 If a golfer request a time to play
other than Friday and a time is arranged with is opponent both golfers points
earned will be recorded however the golfer that initiated the off day play will
still be responsible for the $10.00 missed money to be paid to the league for
not participating on Friday.

TEAM EXEMPTION RULE(Don Stoltz Rule) If
a team is short handed for a period of time due to illness, injury, or excused
absence etc., SUBS WILL BE USED IF AVAILABLE, IF NOT the Ghost Rule will be in effect. GHOST RULE: The score for the missing
player will be determined by a blind draw of team numbers with the missing
golfer team # removed and the flight of the missing golfer used from team
drawn.
11. SCORES:
Any scores that are questionable
should be resolved before teeing off at the next hole. If it cannot be resolved
at that time it should be brought to the attention of the president or any
member of the rules committee. The committee members will make a decision and
both parties’ names will be provided to the president and he will evaluate the
frequency at which any member is involved and deal as necessary with the
situation.
12. SCORING:
MATCH PLAY RULES PREVAIL USING FULL HANDICAPS. ONE POINT PER HOLE IS
AWARDED PLUS TWO POINTS FOR THE BEST NET SCORE. SCORES WILL BE ADJUSTED FOR
HANDICAP BY THE ESC RULE. (EQUITTABLE STOKE CONTROL).
13. SCORE
CARDS: MUST BE SIGNED AND DATED BY THE SCORER AND ATTESTED BY A MEMBER
OF THE GROUP.
14. IF ANY PLAYER MISSES THREE COSECUTIVE WEEKS WITHOUT AN EXCUSE THEY WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION INCLUDING DISSMISSAL FROM LEAGUE.
15. NEW GOLFER: A new golfer will now enter league as handicap indicates. There will be no delay in qualifying for “A” position as in the past.
16. PAYOUTS: League will only pay the top four team positions Amount to be determined by the rules committee.
17. RAINOUTS- Officers will make final decision for league cancellations. If course is open you must show as scheduled or risk forfeiture of your match.
18. FEES; FULL TIME MEMBERS $100.00--- SUBS $50.00 MISSED MONEY WILL BE $10.00 IF CALLING IN AND $15.00 IF NO CALL AND NO SHOW

ADD).. FOR SPEED OF PLAY (PRIMARILY AT HOLE
11) IF BALL HIT INTO WOODS YOU MUST
HIT A PROVISIONAL BALL BEFORE LEAVING TEE. If first ball found in woods do
not use provisional ball. Choices will be 1. Play as
lie, 2. Declare unplayable and move within two club lengths and drop with ONE
stroke penalty OR LEAGUE RULE
WILL BE DROP BALL WITHIN ONE CLUB OF POINT OF ENTRY AND TAKE TWO
STROKE PENALTY AND STRIKE 4 ON THAT SHOT, ONE FROM TEE + TWO STROKES, WILL
BE HITTING 4 ON NEXT SHOT. Any questions please see a rule committee member.
20.
ADDENDUM FOR 2011
A player 65 or older with a handicap of 15 or higher has the option to play from the forward tees if so desire. If player starts league night from forward tees must finish that night from forward tees.
